5 Spa Places I've Been To In The UK And Would Highly Recommend

Hello Everyone!

In the past, I was always stressed out, whether it was from trying to keep up with Feather's Charm and all the content I wanted to make, to actual issues at work and at home, and with all that’s going on now, I’m still stressed. Sometimes, it does overwhelm me, but there is one way I’ve managed to counteract it, and that’s by going to spas. Now, granted, many of them are expensive, but there are a few budget places I’ve been to that have really helped me, even if they’re not the full luxury experience.

Indoor Spa Pool

That’s right, today, I’m talking about spas, particularly ones that offer massages, and in some cases the full experience, whether it be a day spa trip or an overnight stay, complete with breakfast, accommodation, dinner and full head to toe treatments. Here are 5 spa places that I’ve been to, in the UK, and would highly recommend.

1.   Thermae Bath Spa

This experience isn’t too expensive. Starting at around £44 per person, you can experience the healing qualities of the waters of Bath (no I don’t mean a bathtub, I mean the place, Bath, in the UK). Of course, this price covers various pool experiences, the spa access and access to the café they have on one of the higher floors of the building. You can relax in the sauna, experience the cooling ice room, clear your sinuses in their aromatic steam rooms, or just relax in the many pools they have dotted around the place. I would highly recommend going to the topmost floor, where they have a roof pool that looks out over the neighbourhood and city.

Of course, if you’d like the luxury experience, they do also have treatments that you can book, but these are priced around £100, depending on what treatment you go for. I’ve personally not experienced these (yet), but if I do, I’ll let you know how good it is. Nevertheless, Thermae Bath Spa is a good experience, if you’re in the area, or if you’re visiting. I will say, it can be a bit crowded, because it’s a popular spot, but it’s worth the visit, just to soak in Bath’s healing waters, while you take in the view of the city.

2.   The Hogarth Health Club

I went to The Hogarth Health Club a while back, with a good friend of mine, and honestly, it was such a good experience, I kind of want to go back to experience some of their other treatments. I believe I went in for a deep tissue massage and a facial (at the time, there was an offer on Treatwell – I highly recommend checking this app/website out, if you want to find good places to get spa offers and other beauty treatments), after which my friend and I just lounged in the jacuzzi and pool area.

It was so good that we ended up spending the entire day there and had dinner at their café on the ground floor, past the gym area. Just be aware, their prices will vary, depending on the treatment you’re after, and can range from £50 (for just one massage) to £400+ (these are the more intensive beauty treatments, like laser treatments or full massage courses). Although, I would still recommend them, because they’re just that good, and their locker rooms are very luxurious.

3.   East Sussex National Golf Resort And Spa

I went to the East Sussex National Golf Resort and Spa, a couple of years ago, for my cousin’s wedding, and it was an amazing experience! This one was an overnight stay and was on offer on Spa Breaks (another website I highly recommend if you want to get the best deals for spa treatments, day trips and actual weekend or full week breaks). I would love to go back to this one and experience a full weekend there.

It was such a beautiful space, the hotel was amazing, the pool area was clean and mostly quiet. The grounds were gorgeous, and the food, mouth-watering. I would highly recommend this place, if you’re looking for the luxury experience. Just be mindful that the prices are a bit high for this one, especially if you’re looking to experience an overnight stay, and can range from approximately £80 to £445, but I’d say the money is worth it, especially if you’re celebrating a big milestone, like a wedding.

4.   Studley Castle

This is another one I went to, to celebrate something. My sister actually booked us this trip, because it was my 30th birthday, and she knew I loved and still love a good spa break. I cannot gush more about this spa break than the others, and I think this one is in one of the top 3 places I’ve been too. The reason being is that the spa is in a castle! I honestly wanted to spend an entire week there, just soaking in the countryside, and maybe work on a project or two (iykyk). Not only that, but the castle was right next to Shakespeare’s birthplace! I love visiting Stratford Upon-Avon, so it was the perfect place to celebrate my 30th birthday!

Now, I will say, this is the priciest of the breaks, because it’s a part of the Warner Hotels group, so you know their experiences are luxurious. Their breaks are priced around the £250-£400 mark, so if you’d like to enjoy this luxurious experience, then you may want to save up for it. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this place, especially if you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion.

5.   Milsoms Kesgrave Hall

I loved this spa experience, especially because I spent it with my mom for her birthday, a couple of years ago. It was a really lovely experience. Not only that, but their spa facilities were very modern and so sleek. The outdoor pool and loungers, the free tea area, the spa treatments, it was all so cosy I didn’t want to leave. When you’re there, you’re surrounded by nature, no noise from the nearby city, no distractions of other people, it’s literally a good place to unwind and relax. When we went, it was towards the end of summer, just before September, so most of the families and holiday makers were gone, but even then, the spa was very quiet, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

I would highly recommend visiting, if you just want to recharge from and get away from life, for just a night or two. Let your imagination run wild with the plains and forests around and grab a drink from their main restaurant and bar. Now, like with the last two spa breaks, this one is also pricey, but it’s on the lower end of the scale, so it is a little more accessible. With prices that range from £130 to £245, it’s a good place to go, if you’re on a tight budget.

Alright, Now I Want To Go To A Spa Place And Relax!

Honestly, all this talk of spa treatment and spa breaks have really made me want another one. Of course, I’m always on the hunt for a good space to go, so I’ll continue doing research and let you know if there’s a part 2 to this article, and maybe I’ll be able to find some more budget friendly places. Who knows.

Anyway, I’m off to do just that, but in the meantime, you know the drill.
