Hey guys! Merry Christmas! I know Christmas Day is over, but that doesn't mean the Christmas season has ended just yet. I did promise you a more traditional family Christmas house, well...here it is! I was mostly inspired by the Home Alone house. If you don't know what I mean, look up the movie, watch it, and see just how amazing it is, for a Christmas movie. It's such a great piece of storytelling. Back to the build, I find Christmas a nostalgic season, where I rewatch all the films I watched when I was a child. That means, I go back to the old Barbie movies (yes, I mean those movies, like Barbie as Rapunzel or Barbie in the Nutcracker - those movies), The Chronicles of Narnia and my all-time favourite Harry Potter. All of these films kind of helped inspire this build, particularly the Barbie movies, as many of their Christmas settings are in houses like this one. So, much of the house is inspired by my nostalgia and these films. Anyway, this house was a nightmare to make, because I challenged myself to only use the Base Game, Season and the Holiday packs for this house. So, there are very limited clutter items I could use...I realised just how dependent I've become on those kits! But, I did it! Of course, there are loads of repeat items in the house, which I'm sure you can replace, with items from other packs, if you so choose. Now, I do have one piece of advice, if you choose to download this house, from the Sims Gallery, just know that it will tag the house as having used something from the Get Together pack, now I don't remember using anything from this pack, but who knows. I've tried looking for it, but can't seem to find it, and I don't really want to scour the whole building just to find one item. Hey guys! You all know the drill! It's time for another house build! This time, I made a modern lake house, based off of one that I saw years ago by @insims, called "Celebrity Mansion". You can find it on the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vve9q0FRIj8 Now, I know their style is different and it's a mansion, and not a small lake house, but I love the idea of having balconies that overlook a body of water, like they do in some parts of Japan. It's such a tranquil sight. Anyway, originally, this house was meant to be a summer house that didn't really have any association with Christmas, but as it's coming up to the holidays, I thought why not? why not add a touch of the festivities to this place, and warm it up? In all honesty, it does look much cosier with the decorations and everything, but don't unsubscribe just yet! I do have another traditional Christmas house in the works. So, stay tuned for that. In any case, I modelled this house after some of the holiday films I've been watching (namely *cough*Barbie*cough*...what?), and thought that it wouldn't be too bad to have a modern take on Christmas as well. Hey guys! You know what time it is. Today, I've got a simple, yet stylish one for you. Say hello to my take on the A-Frame house...or cabin! Whichever you prefer. I would love to stay here for a few nights, gazing up at the stars, in bed, with nothing but the sound of nature all around me. Oh, and don't get me wrong, it's also a beautiful romantic getaway, but there's something so profound when you're tucked away in nature, with none of the trappings of the city. I like this house, because it was simple. There aren't the usual hidden gems in this house, like with some of the others I've made. I wanted to make this one a retreat, whether you're an author or looking for that wintry romantic atmosphere, this is the perfect place to find that inspiration. That's why I've made it. Hey guys! It's that time of the week again! I have a new build for you. This time, it's a play on the whole academia vibes. So, I had intended to make a Victorian house, that served autumn colours and flavours, but then I saw Brichester and thought, what could be more Victorian than a British townhouse. So, here's my take on the Autumn Victorian vibes. I took inspiration from Peter Pan, and Mary Poppins, as well as the other background houses nearby. I also took inspiration from all the houses I walk by, whenever I'm in London, since they are what mostly inspired this house. I love the idea of a basement apartment, but if I am to make a proper one, the lot might need to be bigger. That's why I chose to make the basement a lounge, instead of a small apartment. Although, if you're clever enough, and have the time, you most likely could make it a separate apartment. For now, I decided I didn't want to do that, since I'm building these houses after work. Anyway, I love this house. If I were to live in the city, I most likely would live in a place like this, especially if it's in London. I mean, my sister did flat-sit once, and it was in a building similar to this. So, it's easier for me to visualise, but I digress. This house was built for a small family, as you can see. I even fashioned them to look like they came from the Victorian era, except their daughter, who would rather live in the 21st Century. Essentially, the story of this house is that a professor lives here, with his family, a mild mannered and demure wife, with a rebellious daughter. It's such a good story, and I wonder where it'll go. Hey guys! I know it's late, but better late than never right? Anyway, Happy Halloween! I made this build partly to satisfy my obsession with everything fantasy, and to make a seasonal video. So, although I'm a day late, here's my Halloween special. If you know me, you know I love all things fantasy, from ancient folklore to ancient myths and legends, and even dungeons and dragons. Now, like I said, I made this cottage to satisfy my fantasy obsession, so that's why it's called the Enchanter's Cottage. I wanted to emulate the wizard's tower vibe, but make it cosy, and I had planned to put a cauldron in there, but the house was a little too small for my vision, so I ended up making a shed and putting it there. I also added a secret behind the house...well...a secret wishing well, for all those witches and wizards who want to up their game quicker. Just make an offering and you're set. Ok, so, it's not all that scary, but who said Halloween was all about scares. It's originally a pagan holiday, celebrating the thinning of the veil, where magic happens. So, that's what I kept in mind. My enchantress can make all her spells twice as powerful as before. Or that's the story there. Anyway, I ramble, and all of that is to say, this has to be my favourite house so far, and I totally can see myself living here. I just wish it was real. Can someone really make it for me? I kid... Hey guys! I'm back! I know it's a day late, but I had some things going on. Anyway, here's this week's build for you. It's a Luxury Lodge, inspired by the newest pack #AdventureAwaits! Now, I do have the pack, but I had made this build way before it came out, so I didn't incorporate any build items into it, but if you want to, you can. It's up on my gallery. Of course, this build is perfect for those who don't have the expansion pack either, so enjoy. Now, I made this lodge inspired by all those American camping stories, you know, the ones with the rich kids going out camping, only to stay at their parent's lake house, in the heart of luxury. Those types of stories. It's perfect for spooky season, because it's the comfort of home, in the middle of the woods. So, there's plenty to do, and plenty of scares to be had, and this lodge is perfect for those scary stories. What I love in this house is not the pond outside, but the surprise in the basement...A cinema bar! I love this, I've always wanted a cinema room, but my real house isn't big enough, and I don't actually have the money to have one, but a girl can dream. Anyway, this is my take on a luxury camping lodge, and I wish I could stay in one, just for the aesthetic and vibe. Hey guys! It's me again! Today, I've got a different kind of build for you. It's a modern little gem...with a pool! Yes, it has a pool, it has a bar. It has all the bells and whistles a modern glass house would have, except a glass roof. I wanted the house to have some form of structural integrity (although that doesn't really affect any sim houses anyway...there has to be some form of realism here. Anyway, I love this build, because, like some of my previous ones, you could easily make this a vacation rental somewhere in the countryside. I chose those hill escapes in Brindleton Bay...it seemed appropriate, tucked away in the trees, on a hill. It's the perfect spot. Of course, you could hide it away in Granite Falls or Selvadorada, but I thought it fit best with the vibes of Brindleton Bay. Now, for this house, I was inspired by that show again, "The World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals". There was a glass house that was featured in one of the episodes, and I wanted to riff off of that, so I made this glass house. It has all the amenities you'll need for an escape from the every day. I'm sure if I were to properly play the sims, I'd take many a vacation to this lot. What about you guys? Oh, and one more thing. Hey guys! It's that time of the week again. Today, we have a cosy Tudor cottage! I love this build. I've been playing Hogwarts Legacy recently, and wanted to emulate the cottage feel (granted I also wanted to do a fantasy wizard's cottage - like one that Caleb Widowgast would have). Anyway, this build is perfect for those garden witches and wizards who want to live a quiet life, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, even though they live in the middle of one. I know I'd live in a place like this...although, I'd need a TV to keep me entertained, and do you know why? The kitchen! I love having a fireplace in the kitchen, plus the table in the middle. It reminds me of those mystery games that I used to play (and will play again eventually), with those old timey Victorian mansions. I do love this house, it's small and cosy, and perfect for someone like me, just living with my books, plants, and arts and crafts. I want this house! Hey guys! You know what time it is! Today I've got another build for you, and this time, it's Asian inspired! Ok, so appropriately, this build is set in Mt Komorebi, and I call it the Asian Fusion, because it's a mix of Japanese and Korean styles. Why? Because The Sims 4 don't have Korean inspired furniture! It's mostly Japanese inspired. So, if you don't know, I love my K-Drama shows. I kind of grew up on them, watching shows like 도깨비 or 철인왕후, and I wanted to emulate the traditional Korean house, because no. 1, they're actually pretty simple, except the palaces and all that, and no. 2, I love the aesthetic! The thick wooden columns and hanging eaves, the sanded courtyard, with the small gardens, the massive jars and outdoor ovens. I love the aesthetic, and sometimes, I would like to experience the traditional Korean culture, but for the time being, I have to watch it on TV...or on my computer screen. Nevertheless, I do love the Japanese culture too. In fact, I really did grow up with it, since I watched a lot of anime, and did a lot of research when I was just a tween. So, I also wanted to pay homage to the cultures I grew up around. That's why I've made this little nugget. It is a fusion of my two favourite cultures, and I love it! Of course, that's not to say it's a perfect representation, not by a long shot, but it's a starting point. Anyway, that's enough of me rambling on, what do you guys think?
