Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | April

Hey guys! Apologies this one is so late, I've just been feeling rather unmotivated lately, because of all the things happening at work (it's still not calm yet), and a few developments have happened there that are also about to take up even more of my time, so it's going to be a while before I can finally focus on Feather's Charm again, but nevertheless, I still make videos, and will still make them for you all. This month's spread is emulating the ones that I'd created for September, October and November, so you get the scrapbook look, washi tape and stickers and the doodles! So, this time round, I created a floral theme spread, since it's now well and truly springtime. As with all my other spreads, this theme has a colour palette, and this one is a pink one. Not to be confused with February pink, April pink is a sort of darkish pink, a more reddish pink, since it's the month of Aries (yes, I am a zodiac kind of girl). So, the red colour is usually prominent in my April spreads. However, for me, it has a slight pink tint, than full on red. So, that's why I've also included the lighter pink shades. It's perfect to offset the darker pink. Not only that, but you also have the mint greens and browns mixed into it, and I honestly love the palette. It's perfect for April! I really do love this spread, it reminds me of some of the junk journal spreads I'd attempted last year, you know the ones I created for my shorts. If you haven't checked those out yet, I highly recommend you do. Anyway, what do you guys think of this spread, and what do you associate April with, in terms of colour? Let me know! And let me know what you think of the spread itself? Leave your feedback and comments in the comment section below! Oh, and below you'll find all the items I used in this video: Journal Bayou (Emerald) Open Spine Book (https://www.citrusbookbindery.co.uk/shop/bayou-emerald-print-open-spine-book/) Pens Staedtler Double-Ended Fibre Tip Pens (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Staedtler-Fibre-Tip-Impression-Proof-3200-TB72/dp/B07F74GG1R/) Brown Light Pink Mid Pink Dark Pink Black Uniball Uni-Pin Pens Finliner Pens (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Uni-ball-Sketch-Uni-pin-fineliner-drawing/dp/B09KDB1YHZ) Staedtler Triplus Fibre Tip Pens (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Staedtler-Fibre-Tip-Impression-Proof-3200-TB72/dp/B07F74GG1R/) Dark Pink Washi Tape The Washi Tape Shop (https://thewashitapeshop.com/) Stickers 30pc Female Washi Tape Stickers (https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1459857671/30pcs-female-washi-stickers-for) 46pcs Coffee Stickers Pack (https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/821289496/46pcs-coffee-stickers-pack) Coloured/Patterned Paper Summer Breeze 8"x8" Designer Paper Pad By Mindy Terasawa (Discontinued) - Bought at HobbyCraft (UK) - https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/papercraft/paper-cardstock/patterned-paper-cardstock/ Well, that's it from me today, I hope you all enjoyed this! Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | March

Hey guys! I'm back with a new video. This one's for March! I know it's been more than a week, since March began, but a lot has gone on at work, and I have just been so tired, since both January and February have been full on and full of activity. I won't lie, it's been hard, but thankfully, things are getting better, and I will be able to focus on my projects, including Feather's Charm. For now, let's dive in to the March spread. I really love this one, it's much more artistic than my previous spreads. I know it's all been thematic doodles and abstract forms, but with this, I feel like I can be a bit more artsy about my bullet journal. I'm not saying it'll continue into my next one, but it is a possibility. Anyway, for me, March has always been a peach month, and what better way to start the Spring season with flowers? I decided, instead of trying to incorporate the rose, I would make the theme for the month the rose itself! So, here we are! I love how cohesive this month's theme is, it's just so romantic, so abstract and artsy that I might do something similar for April, and it's all thanks to the water pen that comes along with the real brush pens by Arteza, which I use again this month. I really do love this spread, and it really embodies the Spring season. I'm glad I decided to create it for this month. Anyway, that's enough from me, I'll let you watch the video, but once you're done, please do let me know what you think of it. Do you like it? do you hate it? Do you have any other ideas I could use for next year? Leave your tips, comments and feedback in the comments section below, and I'll see what I can do. Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | February

Hey guys! It's that time of the year again, where couples declare their love for each other, propose marriage, or when singles pamper themselves for that one day. Valentines Day! At first, I wanted to do a Valentines theme, for February, but I decided I wanted to step away from that this year, because I just didn't like the way the love hearts and the whole theme looked...it's just too pink and red. So, I decided to go for something a little different, as you'll notice already. It's not quite what I had in mind, but it works, and I do like it, since it goes well with the Art Deco theme that I wanted to carry through into this month. It's a bit circus, but not quite (I might actually do that for April, who knows!), and I actually like it. It's a very spring circus vibe, and I think it goes well with the shapes that I eventually incorporate into the spread. What do you think? Oh, and if you haven't noticed, I finally used the watercolour aspect of the real brush pens! Yes, these pens are also watercolour pens, and I absolutely loved the new dimension it added to the spread. I should have used it for the rose, but I didn't want to smudge the black pen (since it easily spreads with other types of pens), so I just used my handy-dandy Staedtler pens. Maybe next time, I'll use the watercolour aspect of the pens, for the rose as well. Regardless, I am proud of this spread, because it's another step up into my artistic skills, which I am slowly building with this bullet journal. Anyway, that's enough from me, I'll let you watch the video, but once you're done, please do let me know what you think of it. Do you like it? do you hate it? Do you have any other ideas I could use for next year? Leave your tips, comments and feedback in the comments section below, and I'll see what I can do. Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | January

Hey guys! Happy New Year! I know I'm a little late to the party, but it's because I've been having a party that this video is late. I hope I haven't made you guys too mad. If so, I'm sorry, if not, well...let's get on with it. So, as you can tell, in this episode, I'm making up the spreads for January, and I absolutely love it! I went with this whole Art Deco kind of vibe...I mean...we're in the 20s of the 21st century, so it make sense...kinda. But seriously, I absolutely love the Art Deco vibe, it's just screams luxury, Classic Hollywood, and all things glitz and glam. If you don't know me, I'm that type of girl, who daydreams about being a billionaire with a maze of a house that has secret rooms, hidden cinema rooms and quiet book nooks. I'm all about the dressing up and high lifestyle...although there are times when I'm about the cosy, warm blanket lifestyle. Anyway, I'm really proud of this spread, not just because of its aesthetic, but because I also attempted a Dutch Door page, for my 2024 marker. If you don't know what a Dutch Door is, it's basically a page that's cut in half, or maybe a little less, to act like a marker. So, for my 2024 cover, I decided to create this Dutch Door to separate the next 6 months, from 2023. Of course, the thing I'm most proud of is the fact that I managed to cut the page evenly, around my rose, which comes back in a different kind of form. Yes, it comes back in this stained-glass style and I am in love with it! It really stands out amongst the black and gold, and adds colour to the pages. I especially love the fact that I use several colours for the rose, so it has a little more dimension than the flat roses I used to doodle. Anyway, that's enough from me, I'll let you watch the video, but once you're done, please do let me know what you think of it. Do you like it? do you hate it? Do you have any other ideas I could use for next year? Leave your tips, comments and feedback in the comments section below, and I'll see what I can do. Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | December

Hey guys, I am so sorry it's taken so long! I've just been so exhausted from work, I wasn't able to film or edit this video, in time for the 1st December. However, it's done now, and I am so happy to reveal to you my December spread! I'm really happy with it, even if it doesn't have a single Christmas Tree or bauble in sight. It's still very Christmas themed and with the new metallic pens I've got, it's looking so shimmery and beautiful. I can't wait to fill this month up with all the things I've got planned! Now, I was debating on using paper, stickers and washi tape, for this spread as well, but I just didn't have the right ones with me. I actually don't have any Christmas stickers or washi tape, and pairing up the ones that I did have, didn't match the theme I was going for. So, I decided to forgo the stickers and washi tape. So, this spread, we're going back to pure drawings. Don't worry, I will eventually buy Christmas washi tape and stickers, for next year, so you can see what a spread that uses both techniques looks like, but for now, we'll stick with just the doodles. Anyway, what do you guys think? Do you like the look of this spread and the new layout? Let me know in the comments below! Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | November

Hey guys! I am so sorry for the late upload, I had this video pretty much finished for the 1st November, but I caught a really bad cold, and was literally bed-bound, for the first 3 days last week. So, I couldn't upload the video until now. I was also meant to upload it yesterday as well, but I was having export problems, which I've fixed now, so enjoy! Now, I know that the quality of this video isn't that great, I was experimenting with a few things, and it didn't go my way, so I apologise for the poor lighting, the blurriness and the overall quality of the video. Also, please forgive the voiceover, I had a very long day at work, when I recorded it, and I was just very tired. I promise that the next time I record the voiceover, I will have the energy for it! Anyway, in today's video, I create the spread for November, and as I mention in the video, I always consider this month as the very first month of winter, so it's a blue month for me. What about you guys? Do you think November is a winter month or do you still consider it as a fall/autumn month? Let me know in the comments below! Well, I'll let you guys enjoy the video! Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | October

Hey guys! I know it's been a while, since my last video, and I haven't uploaded anything in between, but there's a reason why, and I may create a blog post on my website, so you guys understand why. I basically took a hiatus this month, to recuperate from the stress I'd been feeling in August. A lot had happened, and I needed to get away from everything, for a little while, but I'm back...almost, and I will do my very best to get more content out to you guys, as best as I can. Anyway, in the meantime, here's this month's bullet journal video. As you can see, we're working on October, and I am so excited for this one! It's cute, it's got patterned paper and it's not all about the doodles! Yes there are still some doodles (since I promised to incorporate my rose throughout the year), but that's because it's pumpkin season, and I cannot create a spread without the pumpkin theme! So, enjoy! Now, I do love this spread, because it's the height of the autumn season, and it's all about the season of change. Not to mention, it's Halloween! What are you guys going to do for the season? Are you dressing up? Are you cosplaying? Let me know! I don't think I'll be doing too much this year. I'm still trying to restore some of my energy (and finances), before I can do anything too fancy, but maybe one day, I might think about going to a ball...maybe a masked ball? Who knows! This year, I think it'll be a cosy one, where I curl up by the fire and watch my favourite movie of all time Labyrinth (the 1986 film by Jim Henson...you know the one with all the puppets?). Anyway, enjoy this month's journal spread! And let me know if you'd like me to do something different next month! Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | September

Hey guys! I know it's a little later than usual, but I've been through quite a lot of things, personally, lately and had to take a break. That's why I haven't posted any shorts or social media posts either. Don't worry, it's not all bad, but I still need to work through a few things, before I can resume my schedule again. I will still post up weekly videos (or as weekly as I can make them), and keep making content for you guys as I go. Anyway, onto this video. Today, we'll be making September's spreads, and I'm so excited! It's one of my favourite spreads out of all the ones I've done before. Why? Because of the gorgeous colours that come with the autumn season! This season is my absolute favourite because it's so full of colour. And usually, when I think about autumn, I think about coffee, spices and all things warm and snuggly. After all, with the change in season, comes the change in weather and the colder air comes through. Oh! I can't wait to snuggle up under a blanket, a good mug of hot chocolate and a cosy book! Back to the video...Yes! I do use washi tape and stickers in this one! Finally! I have previously used them before, but haphazardly. This time, I use them with some intent, and position them in ways that don't disturb the vibe I'm going for, or at least look out of place. Also, just on a side note, I use a craft blade in this video, but for those of you too young to use a blade, I say this: HAVE A SUPERVISING ADULT TO HELP YOU! I don't recommend that you use a blade without a responsible adult in the room. If anything, get them to cut your stickers, if you're going to do something similar to what I'm doing. But I do still hope that my videos inspire your bullet journal journeys too! Oh, and below you'll find all the items I used in this video: Journal Bayou (Emerald) Open Spine Book (https://www.citrusbookbindery.co.uk/shop/bayou-emerald-print-open-spine-book/) Pens Staedtler Double-Ended Fibre Tip Pens (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Staedtler-Fibre-Tip-Impression-Proof-3200-TB72/dp/B07F74GG1R/) Burnt Orange Amber Peach Brown Uniball Uni-Pin Pens Finliner Pens (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Uni-ball-Sketch-Uni-pin-fineliner-drawing/dp/B09KDB1YHZ) Washi Tape The Washi Tape Shop (https://thewashitapeshop.com/) Stickers 30pc Female Washi Tape Stickers (https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1459857671/30pcs-female-washi-stickers-for) 46pcs Coffee Stickers Pack (https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/821289496/46pcs-coffee-stickers-pack) Well, that's it from me today, I hope you all enjoyed this! Stitch Something | Behind The Stitch | Single Crochet

Hey guys! I'm back with another Behind The Stitch tutorial! This time, we're looking at the single crochet! It's one of the most basic stitches in the crochet dictionary, so if you want to do the more complicated stitches that you see in different patterns, then you might want to start here. In most cases, you'll find the basic crochet stitches hidden amongst the complexity of those more advanced ones, but it's always best to start at the beginning. So, let's look at what a single crochet is, and how you can create it. Also, before you start, I suggest, if you haven't seen it before, check out the first episode of this series, The Foundation Chain. It'll show you how to start off your crochet patterns and will help you understand how to start your crochet projects. I will also talk a little bit about gauge in this episode as well, and why it's important. For those of you starting out in crochet, you'll probably think you'll be able to create your own sweaters, hats and dresses. Well, before you do, you'll need to know what a gauge is, and why it's important for these types of patterns. Again, I will explain everything in more detail, on my website, featherscharm.com, so keep an eye out for that blog post, as well as a step-by-step guide on how to create a single crochet. Well, that's it from me today. I'll see you in the next tutorial, where I'll teach you how to create a single crochet! And don't forget to like, subscribe, comment, share and follow me, here on YouTube, on my social media channels and on my website! And as always, be kind, be creative, and be unique!
