In all seriousness, you guys, I do love this house. It's giving London 1920s. Ok, so, here's what I mean. Yes, Art Deco is a vibe, yes it's glitz and glam, but it wasn't all glitz and glam. In fact, the glitz was all a ruse from the upper class, of the time, when the lower classes and the middle classes were starting to gain a little more money and prestige than they had liked. So, they did everything up in golds and silvers, just to make things seem as if they were impressive and luxurious (well...they did get that part right). In any case, for me, Art Deco isn't just about the symmetrical lines, and the straight patterns (there are some curves there ladies, you just have to know where to look), it's the era of murder mystery. While the Victorian age had Sherlock Homes, Art Deco had Hercule Poirot, and the like. So, my idea of Art Deco isn't the glamorous parties, you find in The Great Gatsby, it's the subtle shift from tradition to modern, in those cosy murder mysteries...thrown in with a little glam, but hey, can you blame me? Now, my favourite room of all of these is probably the entrance hallway or the office (because the right person knows what I'm talking about!), and the office really does scream Art Deco, with its patterned black and gold walls! Hey guys! I'm back! And I come bearing gifts! As I said last week, I was rather busy, so I wasn't able to finish creating this video (not the build, but the actual video), but it's done now, and I'm so proud of it. So, in my previous video, I told you guys that I'll be starting to create community lots, and this is the first of them. I love this lot, because it's a freaking café! Do you know how much I love my coffee, and good café vibes? I mean, I'm a barista, so I should, but in all honesty, I love this build, because it's sort of my dream workplace. If I could own a café, I'd own this one. I love the plants, I love the architecture, and I love just how cosy and open it feels. Anyway, as I said before, this month is a Scandinavian inspired month, which is why this build looks like this. Hey guys! Happy New Year! I'm starting this year off with a bang! For each month I will be making houses (and community lots - Yes you heard me right, COMMUNITY LOTS!) according the a theme that I set for that month. So, as you can see, I've assigned January to a Scandinavian inspired theme. Now, I know this house isn't strictly Scandinavian, but it is close. I was actually torn between industrial and Scandinavian, and I thought why not do a mixture of both, since they're so close together. So, that's what this build was inspired by. I wanted to include the warm woods of the Scandinavian lodges, with the coldness of the industrial style. Maybe one day, I'll make a full on Scandinavian house, but you're getting a mixture of both this time. I do like this house, even though it's small. I can so definitely see this as a house for an interior designer or architect (just like one of my older videos), and I can see the dark style fitting in well in the Brindleton Bay area. Actually, I could also see it in Copperdale but I thought the isolated nature of Daschund's Creek was perfect for this build. Anyway, what do you guys think? Hey guys! Merry Christmas! I know Christmas Day is over, but that doesn't mean the Christmas season has ended just yet. I did promise you a more traditional family Christmas house, well...here it is! I was mostly inspired by the Home Alone house. If you don't know what I mean, look up the movie, watch it, and see just how amazing it is, for a Christmas movie. It's such a great piece of storytelling. Back to the build, I find Christmas a nostalgic season, where I rewatch all the films I watched when I was a child. That means, I go back to the old Barbie movies (yes, I mean those movies, like Barbie as Rapunzel or Barbie in the Nutcracker - those movies), The Chronicles of Narnia and my all-time favourite Harry Potter. All of these films kind of helped inspire this build, particularly the Barbie movies, as many of their Christmas settings are in houses like this one. So, much of the house is inspired by my nostalgia and these films. Anyway, this house was a nightmare to make, because I challenged myself to only use the Base Game, Season and the Holiday packs for this house. So, there are very limited clutter items I could use...I realised just how dependent I've become on those kits! But, I did it! Of course, there are loads of repeat items in the house, which I'm sure you can replace, with items from other packs, if you so choose. Now, I do have one piece of advice, if you choose to download this house, from the Sims Gallery, just know that it will tag the house as having used something from the Get Together pack, now I don't remember using anything from this pack, but who knows. I've tried looking for it, but can't seem to find it, and I don't really want to scour the whole building just to find one item. Hey guys! You all know the drill! It's time for another house build! This time, I made a modern lake house, based off of one that I saw years ago by @insims, called "Celebrity Mansion". You can find it on the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vve9q0FRIj8 Now, I know their style is different and it's a mansion, and not a small lake house, but I love the idea of having balconies that overlook a body of water, like they do in some parts of Japan. It's such a tranquil sight. Anyway, originally, this house was meant to be a summer house that didn't really have any association with Christmas, but as it's coming up to the holidays, I thought why not? why not add a touch of the festivities to this place, and warm it up? In all honesty, it does look much cosier with the decorations and everything, but don't unsubscribe just yet! I do have another traditional Christmas house in the works. So, stay tuned for that. In any case, I modelled this house after some of the holiday films I've been watching (namely *cough*Barbie*cough*...what?), and thought that it wouldn't be too bad to have a modern take on Christmas as well. Hey guys! You know what time it is. Today, I've got a simple, yet stylish one for you. Say hello to my take on the A-Frame house...or cabin! Whichever you prefer. I would love to stay here for a few nights, gazing up at the stars, in bed, with nothing but the sound of nature all around me. Oh, and don't get me wrong, it's also a beautiful romantic getaway, but there's something so profound when you're tucked away in nature, with none of the trappings of the city. I like this house, because it was simple. There aren't the usual hidden gems in this house, like with some of the others I've made. I wanted to make this one a retreat, whether you're an author or looking for that wintry romantic atmosphere, this is the perfect place to find that inspiration. That's why I've made it. Hey guys! It's that time of the week again! I have a new build for you. This time, it's a play on the whole academia vibes. So, I had intended to make a Victorian house, that served autumn colours and flavours, but then I saw Brichester and thought, what could be more Victorian than a British townhouse. So, here's my take on the Autumn Victorian vibes. I took inspiration from Peter Pan, and Mary Poppins, as well as the other background houses nearby. I also took inspiration from all the houses I walk by, whenever I'm in London, since they are what mostly inspired this house. I love the idea of a basement apartment, but if I am to make a proper one, the lot might need to be bigger. That's why I chose to make the basement a lounge, instead of a small apartment. Although, if you're clever enough, and have the time, you most likely could make it a separate apartment. For now, I decided I didn't want to do that, since I'm building these houses after work. Anyway, I love this house. If I were to live in the city, I most likely would live in a place like this, especially if it's in London. I mean, my sister did flat-sit once, and it was in a building similar to this. So, it's easier for me to visualise, but I digress. This house was built for a small family, as you can see. I even fashioned them to look like they came from the Victorian era, except their daughter, who would rather live in the 21st Century. Essentially, the story of this house is that a professor lives here, with his family, a mild mannered and demure wife, with a rebellious daughter. It's such a good story, and I wonder where it'll go. Hey guys! I know it's late, but better late than never right? Anyway, Happy Halloween! I made this build partly to satisfy my obsession with everything fantasy, and to make a seasonal video. So, although I'm a day late, here's my Halloween special. If you know me, you know I love all things fantasy, from ancient folklore to ancient myths and legends, and even dungeons and dragons. Now, like I said, I made this cottage to satisfy my fantasy obsession, so that's why it's called the Enchanter's Cottage. I wanted to emulate the wizard's tower vibe, but make it cosy, and I had planned to put a cauldron in there, but the house was a little too small for my vision, so I ended up making a shed and putting it there. I also added a secret behind the house...well...a secret wishing well, for all those witches and wizards who want to up their game quicker. Just make an offering and you're set. Ok, so, it's not all that scary, but who said Halloween was all about scares. It's originally a pagan holiday, celebrating the thinning of the veil, where magic happens. So, that's what I kept in mind. My enchantress can make all her spells twice as powerful as before. Or that's the story there. Anyway, I ramble, and all of that is to say, this has to be my favourite house so far, and I totally can see myself living here. I just wish it was real. Can someone really make it for me? I kid...
