5 Themed Colour Palettes For Your Home

Hello Everyone!

Today’s post is all about colour palettes, particularly colour palettes with a theme. Initially, I wanted to do a post about neutral colour palettes, but I realised, why not make themes out of your rooms!

Interior design

Granted, some of these themes can be considered neutral if paired with a neutral wall colour, or if they’re simply accent colours in the room, but if you want overall themes, then why not paint your room in one of the darker colours, or better yet, hang up tapestries or fabric wall art.

There are so many options to play around with, and you can even create themes for each room! How fun would that be! So, for those of us into that sort of thing, here are my top 5 themed colour palettes, to decorate your home with.

1. Springtime Flowers

Springtime Flowers Colour Palette

I love these colours together! If you’ve seen my bullet journal videos (particularly the June episode), you’ll know that I am in love with spring greens, pinks, and peaches! This colour palette is perfect for springtime, and yes, early summer, because the flowers are out, the birds are singing, and the colours just breathe new life.

So, if you’re into the whole spring theme, decorate your homes with green and pink fabrics, or paint your walls with the peach/wheat colours. Add a little bit of moodiness with the Wenge, or a burgundy substitute.

Fill your home with that springtime feel, with this colour palette, and you’ll feel like you’re ready to take on the world. Not only that but if you’re into the frilly and feminine, this is the perfect colour palette for your rooms. Use accent throws and cushions to really make your rooms shine brightly with that springtime feel.

2. Sunset Mood

If you’re into something a little more moody, why not go for this colour palette. I call this Sunset Mood, because it’s much darker, and it reminds me of a sunset (or sunrise, if you’re a morning person). I love this palette, and I would suggest using it for your bedrooms, or any rooms that you want to be a little more moody than bright (like a den, or a cinema room).

This colour palette is so relaxing and calming, I’d definitely use it somewhere in my home if I ever get the chance. For those looking for moody colours, this is the perfect addition to your home. It’s the right balance of moody, yet colourful if you’re into that sort of thing.

I know that if I ever have a house, where I can decorate each room to my liking, I’d definitely have this palette in there somewhere. I’m thinking meditation or yoga room, or even a bedroom. Who knows!

3. Boho Jungle

One of the most beautiful colours I absolutely love is green. I love all its different shades, from the more turquoise and blue-greens to the vibrant olives and yellow greens. It’s my favourite colour, and although on the bluer side of the spectrum, this palette is perfect for those who just want that neutral, plant-based look.

With these colours, I can just see a bedroom, or a living room/open plan space, filled with brown furniture and green plants! For those of you who are looking for that show-home/boho/modern vibe to their homes, this palette is perfect for you.

If your home is painted white, and you can’t paint it in another colour (because you’re renting it, or for some other reason), then fill your home with brown furniture and plants! You can’t go wrong with plants! And even if you aren’t a green thumb, you can always substitute live plants with fake ones, and no one would be the wiser.

4. Academia Blue

Sometimes, it’s good to break up the bright and airy with a moody room, and that’s what this palette is for. You’ve probably heard of the “Dark Academia” theme and this palette embodies that theme. Although it’s a little less moody than true Dark Academia, I still like this palette.

This is the perfect palette for a media room, or a study or office. I think it should help with keeping you relaxed and focused on whatever it is you’re doing. So, if you’re studying for an exam or you have an important deadline coming up, you can be sure that you’ll concentrate, and remain relaxed enough to focus on what you’re doing.

If I ever have an office at home, I’d never want to leave, if I decorated it with this palette. It’s moody, it’s calming and it’ll help me focus on my work!

5. Coastal Summer

Coastal Summer Colour Palette

Last but not least, this palette is perfect for any living room, public area or even a bedroom! It’s perfect for homes that have bright and airy vibes. So, if you’re not interested in the moodier palettes, this one is perfect for you. It’ll make your home feel like it’s on the beachside, even if you’re in the centre of a city!

I love this palette because it reminds me of the beach, and in the summer, it’ll help me feel like I’ll cool down in the sweltering heat. It’s a beautiful palette to have, to help you feel like you’re up in the clouds, especially when life is so hectic, you feel so spun out.

Of course, if you’ve read my previous article, 5 Summer Home Décor Ideas, you’ll know that it’s all about the coastal vibes, and this colour palette will be perfect for the season!
