Hello Everyone!

We’re back with another Sims Stop Motion Build video. So, what do I have in store for you today? Well, we’re finally caught up, and it’s the June build! This month, as you already know, is Jungle month…for me, at least. I’ve got a new one for you, which, honestly, is probably going to be one of the top 5s in my book. I’ve never done a build like this before, and I was pretty nervous when I started it, but when I got into the flow, I realised just how easy it was, especially when I was capturing the footage and the screenshots! If you don’t already know, and if you haven’t guessed by the video’s thumbnail, I created Jungle Huts! Check it out!

I didn’t realise just how easy it is to make these huts. I was so worried about the whole circular room thing that I honestly forgot that these huts don’t always need doors or walls to hold them up! Of course, when I decided what the plan for this month was going to be, I didn’t really expect it to be jungle huts. I really veered off the path I was supposed to take, but I’m glad I did. The build really looks very cool. So, let me tell you all about the Jungle Hut Hideout.

What Made Me Go Hut?

So, originally, I wasn’t going to go hut. The whole plan was to create a juxtaposition between concrete blocks and the overgrowth of the jungle. If that didn’t work, then I was going to do a treehouse, but when I opened the game, and I saw the space I was working with, things changed. I started raising the terrain and knew I didn’t have enough space to do what I wanted, or at least I didn’t have the vision to create what I wanted, this time around. Who knows, maybe after some time building more houses, I’ll figure out a way to make the build I want.

Jungle Hut Hideout

Anyway, as I began building, I realised that the space I created could work with huts, like the ones you see in holiday photos of Bali, or in those luxury resorts in South America. I was inspired by one of the TV shows I’d watched a few years ago (I mentioned this in a previous post, it’s called The World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals) and decided to give it a try. Little did I know it was going to be so easy.

What I love about these huts is that there are no walls or doors that get in the way! So, filming them was a breeze (although I did have some technical issues, regarding my actual computer and recording the video was a little bit difficult – graphics-wise, but that’s not important for the build itself).

Is It Actually A Home?

Technically, the lot isn’t a home, it’s a vacation rental, which is more appropriate for the environment it’s set in. So, if you’ve watched the video, you’ll know that I set the lot in Selvadorada, which is a vacation destination, in the game. You can’t really live here, unless you decide to constantly add more vacation days to the vacation, but at least you can stay here for a while, before going back to your home. This is sounding more like real life than I intended it to.

Anyway, the build itself is very simple, but it is very decorated, elevated and luxurious (for the Sims 4). I chose to use the Island Living pack and the Jungle Adventure pack along with some others, to really give the jungle hut that tribal feel. Of course, these huts don’t just belong to the jungle, in fact, you might even be able to transplant them into Sulani, if you really wanted, but I feel like this build belongs in the jungle, especially with all the plants around it.

Filming The Vibe Was Not My Norm

So, if you’ve watched my builds over the last few months, you’ll have probably seen a pattern of movements. Usually, I start from the outside and work my way inwards. I usually also start with the architecture, then the landscape, then the furnishing. This time, I did it a little differently. I started with the landscape this time, then worked on the architecture, before furnishing the space. I also worked from the inside and worked my way outward.

This is because the jungle plants and tall trees that surrounded the lot, both within my own landscaping and the actual game’s set dressing, were blocking the view. These are jungle huts, hidden beneath the canopy, so of course it would be difficult to see them from far away, if at all. That’s why the movements here are much more contained. Yes, I might have moved to the outside, to get some of the wider shots, during the landscaping, but for the most part, this build was very much an inside job, which really changed the pace for me, and I found it quite interesting. Did I enjoy the new style? I don’t know. Will I do it again? Probably. It depends on the build and the vibe I’m going for.

Get Down To The Dirt, Which Is Your Favourite Room?

Well, if you can call it a room, I really like the outdoor shower. I’ve always wanted to try one. I’d probably be icked out, because insects and other animals could suddenly show up, but I really love the whole aesthetic of the plants growing around stone, you know, something reminiscent of waterfalls. In fact, the main inspiration photos, although AI rendered, really made an outdoor shower feel so much more relaxing and refreshing.

I guess it’s all about becoming one with nature and getting reacquainted with your own spirituality that appeals to me (don’t hate, I am interested in that stuff), and because I’ve not had the chance to do anything like that, it’s interesting. That’s why I wanted the stone shower and bathtub. These were taken from the Enchanted By Nature pack.

I also have to say that I love the kitchen hut as well, because it’s such a social space. If this space existed in real life, I guarantee you there would be more huts like these nearby, because it’ll be a hotel or a vacation rental. So, you can probably go on vacation with friends and family, and while you might be a few minutes’ walk away, you can still visit each other and have a good time, eating, drinking, chatting, and at night, enjoying the warmth of the fireplace, as you lounge around with tropical drinks in your hand.

Storytime!

What do I see this lot being used for? Obviously, a honeymoon vacation! I can just imagine a rich couple, who are interested in both culture and nature to just want to get away from it all, work, stress, city life, the whole shebang. It might have been a suggestion made out of the blue, and they just rolled with it. And when they got there, they loved it…maybe not the bugs, but definitely the experience, especially with a set of jungle ruins nearby, where they could explore and discover hidden artefacts and uncover lost civilisations, of course it would be amazing!

Not only that, but if they don’t want to go exploring, they could just hide away in their little space. They have all the luxuries they need there, a good working kitchen, a space to hang out, a bed to sleep in, a functioning bathroom, and even a pool deck, complete with luxurious massage tables. What more could you want? Of course, don’t forget the yoga deck, where they can still keep up with their workout routines and meditation sessions, and if things get too hot, they can always cool down in the pool, relax under the small water features dotted around, and recharge their energy with a good cold cocktail.

Honestly, now I want to go on a vacation like that, but of course, that would take a lot of money that I don’t have…yet.

Final Thoughts?

I do love this build, not only because it was easier to make than some of the other houses I’ve done in the past, but because it’s unique, and unlike anything I’ve ever made before. It doesn’t top the Art Nouveau Manor (which I highly recommend you check out. It’s currently my favourite), but it’s definitely one of the top 5s. But enough rambling from me, what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below!

Also, if you want to download the house for yourself, you can always download it from here, or on my Patreon page. Just be aware, you need to unzip the folder and drag the files into your TRAY folder in your Sims 4 Game. There is no CC involved so you don't need to drag anything into your Mods folder.

Finally, be aware that the next build will be the last free build I will be giving you here. I need some source of income, so the August build will be charged, because it will be an Early Access post, so you'll get to see the video, and download the build in July. I will say, though, if you do want to download it for free, it will be free on my Patreon page, in August.

Well, that’s it from me today, I’m going to go off and build the next one (hint, I took inspiration from the Mediterranean), in the meantime, please don’t forget to like, subscribe, comment, share and follow me, here on Feather’s Charm, on my YouTube channel, on my social media channels, and on Patreon. Your support really helps me make more content like this, for you guys.

And as always, be kind, be creative, and be unique.

I’ll see you later!

Feather, out!
