Hello Everyone!

It’s that time of the month! I don’t mean that kind...I mean the latest episode of the My Bullet Journal Journey series is up on YouTube! Now, I know I explain a lot, in the video, but this post is an addition to it, so there’s a bit more context for you guys.

If you’ve landed here on the website, and are reading this post, before you’ve checked out my YouTube channel, why don’t you watch the video here?

What’s The Plan For The June Bullet Journal Spread?

In terms of my personal projects and the other videos for my YouTube channel, I’m not telling you! You’ll need to find out, but in terms of the spread itself, like I said in the video, June will always and forever be a green month for me, so the colour for it, is green. This year, it’s a lighter green than I initially planned, partly because I wasn’t sure exactly how I was going to style the spread, and partly because I did not want to use up my white Uniball Signo pen (it’s the only one I have, and at the moment, I need to use it sparingly). So, it needed to be light enough, to use my black fineliners on.

Title page for the June Bullet Journal Spread

Originally, I wanted to do a jungle theme for June, because I always, for whatever reason, associate June with a jungle theme (hence the green), but because my supplies or ephemera did not include any jungle themes, I had to make do with a different one, thus I went with foliage and florals this time around, although, I have to say, it does make the spread a little easier to stomach. I think the darker greens would have made the spread seem a little too clutter, so the lighter patterns and colours worked perfectly together this time.

Monthly Goals Pages

I do plan to make a jungle themed spread, one of these days, once I have the ephemera to do so, and once I've levelled up my doodling and art skills. I'm not quite there yet. I’m hoping eventually, I'll have the funds and the storage space to be able to buy these additional supplies, but for now, I have to challenge myself to use what I have in my storage boxes. Of course, that’s not to say I don’t enjoy it. If you’ve read my previous Bullet Journal post, which you can find here, you’ll know that I do like the idea of spreading my resources and thinking on my feet about what to use, in my bullet journal spreads, or my junk journal spreads, to make them make sense and seem cohesive.

Monthly Calendar Pages

My June spread is no different. Because I didn’t have the resources I needed, I had to work with what I did have, and that was light coloured and patterned paper that was softer than the jungle theme I had in mind, and because I was going to go with this scrapbook or junk journal look, a lot of the supplies I had worked well for it. As I mentioned, in the video, I used some patterned paper that I had bought years ago, from The Works (yes, like the Washi Tape Shop, The Works is real), which is a shop you can find in the UK, but I’m sure you can find patterned paper in any paper craft, stationery or hobby shop, as well as some pastel card that I had bought from Ryman Stationery (again, another shop in the UK), when I was still working there, 10 years ago.

The Hobby Hub and The Weeks Cover Page

I also used washi tape that I had bought years ago from The Washi Tape Shop (like I said, it’s a real shop!), as well as tape, or should I say pre-cut sticker tapes, called PET tapes (which stand for Polyethylene Terephthalate – essentially stickers pre-cut onto a roll of plastic, so you don’t have individual stickers to lose track of). I love these stickers, I wish I'd bought them ages ago, it would have made my life so much easier! Of course, mind you, the washi tape I show in the video can be bought from other sellers, like those on Etsy (maybe not the exact same ones that I have, but similar), because The Washi Tape Shop no longer sell them, since they now make their own, so if you're after the ones I use, you won't find them anywhere, because they've been discontinued (I'm sorry!).

Fine, How About The Layout For The Weeks?

So, if you’ve been with me, since the very beginning, when I uploaded the first My Bullet Journal Journey episode, you’ll recognise the layout for week 1, in this spread. I used this layout for the entirety of 2023/2024. Ok, here's the thing, I am a creature of habit and routine (most of the time), and for the entire time I started the series, I didn’t want to change the layout, because it was comfortable, and usable, for me. Like I say in the video, it was perfect, because I could outline all my trackers on the outer half of the pages and list my daily tasks or important notes on the inner half of the pages. Of course, for this spread, I used this layout, as a way to ease me back into using my bullet journal again, and although I'm only using it once, here, I'm sure that later down the line, I'll use it again. It's just so simple and easy to use.

Week 1

Week no. 2 is a little different. If you noticed, while I was flipping through the spreads I’d made back in 2025, I have layouts similar to the ones I make for this spread. Week 2 of June was heavily inspired by, or I leaned heavily on my March spreads. Actually, this entire spread leaned heavily on my March spread, because I never really got to use it, when I made it. I essentially, copied that spread, so I could use it this time. We’ll see if it works, and if I like the different layouts. I’m not sure, if I like the bottom configuration, I’m used to working from the top down (that is not a euphemism…don’t take it the wrong way!), so we’ll have to wait and see what my thoughts are on it, and whether I'll be using this layout again.

Week 2

Week 3 was a no-brainer. Again, I leaned heavily on my March spread, because I never really got to use it, and because the daily boxes are piled on the right side of the double page spread, I had a lot of space, on the left side, to decorate. If I used weekly trackers, like I did before, the left side would be perfect to use for those trackers…I may go back to weekly trackers, in 2027, you never know. Anyway, for me, week 3 reminds me so much of those pre-printed journals and diaries, where all the dailies are positioned on one side of the spread, and other notes would be on the other. Thankfully, though, there aren’t any pre-printed lines to deal with, and I can situate my tasks and events however I want in those boxes.

Week 3

Finally, week no.4 is a combination of the top version, of week 2, and the spread for week 3. The reason being is that I didn’t want to place the last 3 days of June in my July spread. I did that in the earlier videos, for the series (some of you eagle-eyed viewers would have noticed it). Because I’m using the boxes method, and not the joint method (like I did for week 1). Essentially, I can move the days of the week around however I like, and that’s why, I’ve included the last three days of June in this spread. It ensures that I separate June and July cleanly. Now I don’t know what it’ll be like, for the rest of the year, but we’ll figure it out as we go.

Week 4

It also meant that I didn’t have much space to decorate the week, it would also mean that, if I used weekly trackers, I might not have had space for it, but thankfully I bypassed that challenge, using monthly ones this time around. Although, I must say, it does give me an idea for later down the line, if I’m still using my bullet journal, and I choose to use weekly trackers again, and I need to use this layout, for whatever reason; I may create something like a flip out page, or a pocket to hold the additional paper that I’ll probably use for those trackers…I’m now planning for a journal full of extra pockets and flip out pages. Someone stop me!

In All Seriousness, What About The Review Page?

For the last page, I broke it up into 2, with the top half being a space where I write my thoughts on how the month has been, and the bottom half being contained boxes, where I write a small sentence or two, about my accomplishments, the challenges I faced and what I could improve on, in July and beyond.

Reviews Page

It’s nothing new, but I was inspired by an Instagram account that used this coloured line to make the notes page more interesting, as you see here. The account I stumbled across is called phineys_journals. I highly recommend watching their reels, they really do have some good spreads that I may probably use in the future. Anyway, that was the only addition to the page that I have to it. It’s not all that different to review pages I had before. I may change things up, one day, and I may add an extra layer to the review page, but because I’m not tracking a lot of my projects, for the moment, this is a good layout for me.

Finally, Can You Tell Us About The Products You Use?

I’ve already mentioned a few here, and in my last blog post, for the First Pages of the journal, I didn’t list the products I used there either. That’s because all the products I’ve used in my bullet journal are already listed in the description of the video, on YouTube and on Patreon, so if you want purchase or find them, you can find all the links there. I will say, though, most of them are pens I’ve used for a very long time, years even.

Art Supplies

That’s because, as I’ve mentioned both in the video, and earlier here in this post, I want to use up all the supplies I currently have, before I buy any new ones. That includes the pens, pencils, patterned papers, card, stickers, washi tape and even some of the paints that I have, tucked away in my bedroom. There’s lots I still need to go through, and a lot of it is themed in the same way, so I may need to be creative in my next journal, or even next year, so I can include what I currently have and make it make sense for the spread, but that’s a bridge I’ll cross, when I get there.

For now, that’s it from me today, I hope you enjoyed the video (if you haven’t watched it by now, I’m surprised at you, go and check it out!), and I hope you are happy with my explanations in this post. Once again, if you have any feedback or opinions about this post, or if you would like to contribute any ideas for the next video, please feel free to leave a comment below.
