Hello everyone!
It has been a while. I know this video is quite old, compared to the stuff I’ve been putting out, lately, but I did promise to write about this particular build, as I have done with previous videos. Now, if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can find the video of that I’ll be referring to here…
So, a while back, when I was still working solely on my Mac, I created this house, and while the quality of the video is quite…unrefined, I still love the build I made here. I love this kind of build, where it’s very eco-friendly, but modern at the same time. I love the way the roof lines up with the outdoor detailing that overlooks the sea, on this lot, and I love how sleek and peaceful it looks. Now, I don’t really know if an architect would like this house, or not, but I can see it being the house of one, if ever they wanted to live on a private island, with nothing but the trees, the sea and the sun streaming through those giant windows. That’s why it’s called…
The Architect’s House
Ok, without further ado, here’s what the house has…
Firstly, My Favourite Room
As usual, my favourite room needs to have a spotlight. This time it has to be the bedroom, or the bed loft area…whatever. The reason why? Look at those giant windows, and the tall wall of shelves and drawers. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of room in her house, this bedroom is so beautiful and spacious. I wouldn’t mind living somewhere like this myself. I have the whole house to myself, with nothing but nature surrounding me, and amazing views all around. It’s such a peaceful space.

Did I mention, there’s lots of room to move about? I mean, there’s space for yoga in that room! That’s one thing I wish I could do in my actual house but three adults, in a 2-bed terrace house is not an idea place for exercise. We’re essentially living on top of each other. No matter, I can always dream and live my life vicariously through my Sims, such that these houses are dream houses for me, especially if they have big bedrooms.
Now, What Does This House Have?
Ok, time for the overview. This house doesn’t have much, and it’s not meant to. It’s more like an escape for a recluse, who doesn’t mind living a minimalistic life. Overall, the room count is as follows:
1x Entryway
1x Kitchen
1x Dining Area
1x Living Area
1x Office
1x Side Porch
1x Bedroom
1x Balcony
1x Closet Area
1x Bathroom
It’s obvious, but I just have to say that this house isn’t meant for a family. In fact, if you have a Sim who’s a bachelor, or an independent woman, who’s earned enough to own this house, this would be perfect for them. They don’t have a partner to tie them down. They don’t have kids who make a mess and require lots of toys. They don’t have pets to worry about. They have nothing but themselves to care for…sounds ideal.

Of course, it has to be said there isn’t a lot of room to add activities either. As I mentioned before, this house is mainly for Sims who’ve taken up the Freelance - Interior Design career, or a Sim who owns a wellness Spa, since they do a lot of yoga. My idea is that the Sim who owns this place is someone fresh out of university, who’s already made a bit of a name for themselves and just wants to live with the peace and quiet of a private island. So, with at in mind, choose this house wisely.
The Inspiration
For the longest time, I’ve been watching the same Sims builds, before I even took up making my own houses for YouTube. The main culprit that created this house? InSims, particularly their Modern Family Home and their Tiny Eco House. These two styles informed a lot of my favourite build choices, like the extended eaves and wall details, the white stucco fronts, and the wooden wall and floor details that warm up the cold concrete that most of the build has.

Now, it wasn’t just these houses that inspired me, what really was the basis of this build was the Home Design game pack that had come out at the time. It really informed a lot of the decisions I made about this house, like the fact that it belongs to an architect. I really leaned into the idea of an interior designer living out in the boonies, because of it. It came with a lot of cool build items, like the modular shelves, wardrobes and bookcases. I also loved the paintings and decorations that came with it too.

Not only that, but I also think that the Everyday Clutter Kit came out at that time too, and I am obsessed with this kit! As someone who lives in a very cluttered house, this kit was a dream! It came with items that I could so totally see taking up space in my own home (should I ever own one), like the stack of plastic boxes in the corner, or the crate of workout equipment that will eventually be used. There were so many things in this kit that I use it even to this day. You’ll find many of these items in nearly all of my builds, but that’s a story for another time.
Final Word
As one of my first builds, I love this one. The whole modern vibe really suits me, and I love just how freeing it feels, with the space it has. Of course, it’s small but it is spacious, and the space is very deceptive. I can so totally see myself doing yoga here, or writing a book, or even designing my own house!
Well, that’s it for now! Which build do you guys want me to make next? Of course, I’ve already made my next one, but if you have any requests, let me know! For now, don’t forget to like, subscribe, follow, and share this post, my website, and my social media channels, to get the latest updates and the newest posts from me! I’ll see you guys soon.
With love,
